New Official Photos of BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe

The floodgates surrounding the all-new BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe have burst open, as after the initial leak of two faraway images, a fresh set of better quality and more detailed photos are now making the internet rounds.

The 4-Series Gran Coup looks a lot better than many anticipated with a lower profile and overall more sporty and dynamic stance than the similar but taller 3-Series Gran Turismo which was designed to be more practical and roomier member of the family which also includes coupes, convertibles and wagons.
Sitting on a shared platform architecture with the other body styles of the 3-Series and 4-Series lineups, BMW's vision of a so-called "four-door coupe" is believed to ride on a longer wheelbase than the 3-Series sedan (though, we haven’t confirmed this yet).  When the car first debuts, it is expected to arrive in 428i and 435i specifications. These engines will remain untouched from the regular 4-Series Coupe, meaning the 428i Gran Coupe will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 240 hp. The BMW 435i Gran Coupe will then receive a 300 hp 3.0-liter turbocharged unit. Thankfully, manual transmissions are said to be available for both along with an optional eight-speed automatic.

Most excitingly however is the fact that the 4-Series Gran Coupe would actually receive an M variant. If this turns out to be true, then the M4 Gran Coupe would feature the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder delivering 425 hp of the new M3 sedan and M4 coupe.
We suspect that full details will be released soon, but don't expect any surprises under the hood where the 4-Series Gran Coupe will receive the same turbocharged four-cylinder and inline-six petrol and diesel mills found in its close relatives, paired to the usual mix of automatic and manual transmissions and an available all-wheel drive system.
