Batman - The Dark Knight IRL (In Real Life)

The spoofing of the Dark Knight is nothing new in the YouTube community as poking some fun at the caped crusader with the raspy voice that's sounds like its ready to explode has long been a staple of internet humor.

But that doesn't mean we're not interested when something fresh and original comes out like this 2 minute long video dubbed "Batman - The Dark Knight IRL (In Real Life)", which was made by Robson Thomson.

Our dark hero takes to the roads and shopping malls of the city of Cambridge in England riding his nature-friendly Batpod made out of cardboard and powered by his own two feet.

Hop on past the break to gawk at England's Dark Knight first-hand.

Ford Rally Sports Day

Taking advantage of the FIA World Rally Championship mid-season break, eight Ford rally drivers and co-drivers including Jari-Matti Latvala, Petter Solberg and Ott Tanak, left their Fiesta cockpits for a fun day full of racing activities of the second kind at the Blue Oval's European engineering facility at Dunton, UK.

The factory pilots used their own…two legs for power in demanding sporting disciplines such as the sack race, three-legged event and bean bag-on-the-head race in a node to the rapidly approaching London Olympics.

"It was a really fun day, but we’re all ultra-competitive guys and I think there were probably more tactics than on rallies!" said Solberg, who admitted that there was a bit of mischief going between the drivers. "There was a little bit of cheating going on, although obviously not by me, and it was all in good spirit."

[Kia TV] Quoris : Short Drive. Lasting Impression.

The new Kia K9 rear-wheel drive luxury sedan will be named Quoris for markets outside of South Korea when it goes on sale in select countries worldwide from the fourth quarter of 2012.

The automaker won't tell us yet which markets will get the new Quoris but it's more or less a given that it will be offered in North America and Western Europe.

Thomas Oh, Kia’s Executive Vice President, explains how the company coined the named Quoris:

"Derived from the English words ‘core’ and ‘quality’, the name of our new flagship sedan hints at the attributes at the very heart of the vehicle. The word ‘Quoris’ conveys solidity, luxury and high-technology, all resonating together as a chorus."

"Our decision to give this striking new sedan an unconventional name means it will stand out even further from the established crowd, driving Kia sales in what is a new segment of the global automotive market for Kia," Oh added.

In South Korea, the K9 is available with a 3.3-liter V6 delivering 296HP (300PS) and a 3.8-liter V6 churning out 329HP (333PS), both linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

Kia has previously told us that the Quoris will be offered in overseas markets with a 286hp (290PS) Lambda V6 3.8-litre MPI and a 329HP (333PS) 3.8-liter GDI engine. However, we believe that in North America, Kia may also introduce a V8 option.

Police Looking for Canadian Biker Who Posted a Video of Himself Going 186mph – 300km/h

Some people just don't learn. As if riding your motorcycle on a public highway at speeds of up to up to 186 miles an hour or 300km/h isn't stupid enough and not to mention downright dangerous, a Canadian biker went ahead and posted the video of his crazy ride on YouTube for everybody and his mother to see…
After being notified about the video posted on YouTube by a user called “Joe Blow” on April 8, Saanich police in British Columbia received several tips from the public and were able to track down the blue Yamaha R1 and its owner, 25-year-old Randy George Scott of Victoria.
The Star Phoenix reported that Scott's mother was identified as the registered owner of the bike and was issued fines totaling $1,449, including $368 for driving without due care and attention, $483 for excessive speed and $598 for not having insurance. The cops also confiscated the Yamaha motorcycle.
Randy George Scott, however, remains on the lam and is now featured on the Saanich Police Department’s “Most Wanted” list.

All-New Mazda6, not TAKERI ① (Family face)

You know Mazda is trying to make a point about it’s next Mazda6 when it drops a short teaser clip entitled "All-New Mazda6, not TAKERI"...

But just to make sure we all get it, Mazda adds: "This is not the TAKERI concept car, it is the first glimpse of the all-new Mazda6 and the similarities are definitely intentional."

Our recent spy pictures of a prototype model of the new Mazda6 Estate had already confirmed the styling direction and how close the series is to last year's Takeri concept car, but this video gives us a better view of the mid-size model's front end.

"The deeply sculpted face with sharp eyes gazing forward, defined by the chrome 'signature wing', instantly conveys to onlookers that this must be Mazda's new flagship sedan", explains Akira Tamatani, Chief Designer of the new Mazda6.

Mazda's rival to the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Ford Mondeo / Fusion will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show this fall with sales to follow next year. In the U.S. it will launch sometime in 2013 as a 2014 model.

New American-made electric car unveiled in Mississippi

Your next Domino’s pizza may not get there in 30 minutes or less, but could be emissions free.

Bloomberg reports that the restaurant chain is the first U.S. customer for an all-new battery powered car from GreenTech Automotive that entered production in Horn Lake, Mississippi today.
Technically a neighborhood electric vehicle, the tiny two-seat MyCar has a range of up to 115 miles per charge, but a restricted top speed of 25 mph. It is not required to meet the same crash test safety requirements as conventional automobiles and is only legal for use on roads with a speed limit of 35 mph or less in most states.

Founded in 2006 by former Democratic National Campaign Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe and Chinese businessman Charles Wang, the company has secured a deal with a Danish company to export the car to Europe – where laws allow it to operate up to 45 mph – and expects to build up to 10,000 next year in Horn Lake and a planned facility in nearby Tunica.
Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour told The New York Times that GreenTech Automotive received an "off the shelf package of incentives" to open up shop in the state.
A start date for U.S. retail sales has not been announced, but the MyCar is expected to have a base price of $15,500. McAuliffe says he expects at least 20 Domino’s franchises to purchase the cars for use as delivery vehicles.
GreenTech Automotive plans to add a highway capable EV to its lineup in 2014.

Jeep Honors the U.S. Army with New Red, White and Blue Wrangler Freedom Edition

With a deep history that reaches back to the 1940s and the Second World War, the Wrangler remains Jeep's most capable and famous off-road model. Now, the Detroit automaker has chosen the Wrangler to pay tribute to U.S. military members past and present with a special version named Freedom Edition.
Jeep says it will donate $250 (€198) from each Wrangler Freedom Edition it sells to charities that benefit U.S. military members, evenly splitting the funds between the Fisher House and the I Support foundations.

The Freedom Edition is offered as a two-door Wrangler or four-door Wrangler Unlimited in these three shades: Deep Cherry Red, Bright White, and a new exclusive hue to this model named True Blue.

Special features include a military-inspired star decal on the hood and rear quarter panels, together with an “Oscar Mike” (military jargon for “on the move”) fender badge, Mineral Gray-painted 17-inch alloy wheels, grille and front and rear bumper inserts, body-colored wheel arches and side steps, Mopar fuel fill door, and a Sunrider soft top with deep-tint rear windows.

In the interior, the Freedom Edition gets black seats with rugged tectonic fabric, an “Oscar Mike” logo embroidered on the seat backs in silver stitching, French Silver accent stitching on the steering wheel, doors, seats and front arm rest, and “Quick Silver” accents on the front passenger grab handle, door pulls and dash vent rings.

Other touches include Satin Chrome spokes on the leather-wrapped steering wheel and Mopar Slush Mats.

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom edition starts at $28,165 for the two-door models and $30,670 for four-door models.

Listen to This Ford Festiva Running a 1,340cc V-Twin Harley Davidson Engine!

As one of the lower points in Ford Motor Corp.'s history, the first generation of the Mazda-designed Festiva hatchback built from 1986 to 1993 (also sold as the Mazda 121 and Kia Pride) is not the kind of car that you would expect to excite a petrol head at a car meet.

Unless, of course, there's something odd lurking behind its plain Jane-looking snout, as was the case of this modified Festiva that was filmed by Carscoop reader Martin B. a few years back.

Martin tells us: "This is a video I took 4 years ago at a local car and bike show - a really cool Ford Festiva with a 1340 Harley Davidson engine in it."
